GM MUSIC started in Newport, South Wales
in 1974 in the newly built Kingsway Centre.
In the early days we mainly sold the more traditional Rock &
Roll equipment such as guitars and amps. The experience of Peter
Beese was essential in the early days as he already had experience
in the business working for British Music Strings and WMI.
The coming years saw expansion in many respects...
With success proven in Newport our Wharton Street store opened
in Cardiff in 1984, where operations are still based to this
day.
Meanwhile in Newport, our premises were
outgrown due to the specialisation in P.A and Drums, and we
moved to the more spacious Upper Dock street premises. The
company then responded to the needs of our customers by supplying
a full range of educational and orchestral instruments.
The knowhow in this field comes from Lesley Beese, who originates
from a classical background.
GM MUSIC continues to remain a family
run business and prides itself on having a wide and varied
range of products. We are main dealers with many of the market
leaders, thus ensuring the lowest possible prices and availability.
Our staff are knowlegable, helpful and curteous and are involved
in the music scene in their own respective ways..
